'The mind boggles' - Tottenham fans urge Poch to recall 26-year-old against Arsenal

By Will Butcher

Tottenam fans have taken to Twitter in an attempt to persuade Mauricio Pochettino to start Kieran Trippier against Arsenal on Sunday.

The 26-year-old right-back has been in fine form when given the chance in the north London giants’ starting line-up, providing an assist against Watford before starting against Chelsea.

However, the former Burnley star was replaced by Kyle Walker on Wednesday night at Crystal Palace, making only a late cameo role in the 89th minute to replace the England international.

Trippier is known for his incisive crossing in attacking areas on the right flank as well as proving reliable at the back, which could prove crucial ahead of the north London showdown at White Hart Lane.

Spurs fans took to Twitter as they are desperate to see Trippier brought back into Pochettino’s starting eleven in what is a must-win game against the Gunners.

Starting just 13 of his 18 league and cup appearances this season, the former Manchester City trainee has also provided five assists.

Three points against the Gunners could see Spurs close the gap at the top of the Premier League between themselves and Chelsea to just a point, if Chelsea lose to Everton at Goodison Park.
