Micky van de Ven among Tottenham stars to react to Pedro Porro contract news
Tottenham are continuing to be active in the summer transfer window following their announcement on defender Pedro Porro.
Spurs have already confirmed the additions of Liverpool full-back Andy Robertson and Bournemouth defender Marcos Senesi to their squad.
Roberto De Zerbi is putting his stamp on the team in his first transfer window since joining the club in March.
De Zerbi is facing a rebuild of the Spurs squad this summer after they only managed to avoid Premier League relegation on the final day of the season.
The Italian looks to be focusing his efforts on strengthening Spurs defensively, with two bids having been rejected by Brighton for Jan Paul van Hecke.
Further incomings and outgoings are expected in north London, with the club having already allowed Yves Bissouma to depart upon the expiry of his contract.
Tottenham tie down Pedro Porro to new deal
Porro started 32 of Spurs' 38 Premier League games this season, with the Spaniard nailing down the right-back position.
The 26-year-old only had two years left on his current contract, but Spurs have moved to address that.
Announcing on Instagram, Spurs posted that Porro had signed a new long-term contract with the club.
Porro's teammates Micky van de Ven, Joao Palhinha and Conor Gallagher were among those to react to the post by liking it, alongside Bournemouth striker Evanilson.
Sources previously told Football Insider that Spurs had always planned to keep Porro at the club, with Manchester City plotting a move to re-sign the defender.
Who could Tottenham hand a new contract to next?
De Zerbi may have to make a decision on Richarlison's future at the club, with the striker's contract expiring in a year's time.
The 29-year-old scored 11 Premier League goals this season, and has been required amid Dominic Solanke's injury troubles.
Richarlison finished six goals clear of Spurs' next highest scorer, who was defensive midfielder Palhinha on five.
It is likely that unless Solanke can stay injury free, De Zerbi will be in the market for a new number nine, and that could put Richarlison's long-term future in doubt.
