Mikey Moore 'keen' to complete Tottenham transfer as 'perfect' move revealed - Insider
Mikey Moore is keen to leave Tottenham Hotspur on loan this summer with a move to Borussia Dortmund in his sights.
The 18-year-old was given his first taste of regular first-team football at Rangers next season and hopes to maintain his development with frequent game time.
He is considered unlikely to be part of Roberto De Zerbi's starting XI at Spurs, and will therefore be allowed to leave on loan, setting a number of clubs on alert.
Former Tottenham scout Mick Brown told Football Insider that Borussia Dortmund have emerged as the ideal club for Moore as he continues to weigh up his options.
The Bundesliga outfit are one of a number of European clubs keeping tabs on the winger's situation, and news that he would be interested in the move will come as a boost.
Stepping away from the spotlight on English football, but continuing to play at a high level with a club famed for developing talent is now seen as the "perfect" move for Moore.
Which clubs are interested in Mikey Moore?
Football Insider exclusively revealed on 5 July that Dortmund, PSV and FC Koln are among a number of European clubs keeping a close eye on Moore's situation at Spurs.
Both Dortmund and Koln would be prepared to offer him regular minutes in the Bundesliga, while PSV hope to lure him to the Eredivisie after cruising to last season's title.
However, it is BvB who are being tipped as the leading candidates, with Moore believed to be keen to join the Bundesliga giants this summer.
"Mikey Moore will know whether or not he's going to get minutes at Tottenham," Brown told Football Insider.
"From what I've heard, that is unlikely at the moment given the money they're spending on new players, so that forces him to look elsewhere for other options.
"He wants to be playing regularly after his spell at Rangers, and there are a few clubs I'm sure who are going to be offering that.
"A move to Borussia Dortmund is bound to be of interest to him, I'm sure he will be keen to make that move, because of the reputation and stature of the club.
"If they can offer him minutes as a regular in their starting XI, it would be the perfect destination for him, taking him over to the Bundesliga.
"A move to the Bundesliga would be ideal for him. I don't know of any player who has gone there from the Premier League and hasn't come back a better player.
"All of the top clubs in Germany play good football, so he would benefit from that without it being quite as fast-paced as the Premier League, and that would be a boost."
Why would Borussia Dortmund be perfect for Moore?
A move to Borussia Dortmund has now been tipped as the perfect destination for Moore as he aims to remain playing at the top level if he is to leave Tottenham.
Multiple talented English youngsters have made the move over to the Bundesliga in recent years, with the league providing a great step up in quality.
Brown told Football Insider on 7 July that Dortmund would be the ideal situation for Moore, who could replicate the success Jadon Sancho had at the Signal Iduna Park.
After a strong first full season in senior football, there is a feeling the teenager is ready for a step up, with a move to the Bundesliga seen as the ideal next step.
Moore remains very highly rated at Tottenham, despite not being a part of their first-team plans next season, and they are keen to see him take the best step for his development.
