Adi Hutter is leading the race to be named Tottenham Hotspur's next permanent manager in the summer.

The Austrian is available after he was sacked by Monaco in October, in a decision that many saw as extremely harsh.

The 56-year-old had guided the Ligue 1 team to consecutive finishes in the top three and won four of his opening seven league games this season before he was fired.

Hutter could replace interim manager Igor Tudor in the coming days, but he also represents a prominent candidate for plans to appoint a permanent manager in the summer.

Here, Football Insider outlines three players who could thrive under the guidance of the man likely to be Tottenham's next manager.

Dominic Solanke

Former Everton chief executive Keith Wyness exclusively told Football Insider in March that Dominic Solanke could leave Tottenham this summer.

The striker has struggled with repetitive injuries since his big-money arrival at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in 2024, but last season showed that he can score goals regularly.

And if there is one thing about Hutter, it is that he is the dream manager for a striker.

Simply put, centre-forwards thrive under the Austrian. Guillaume Hoarau netted 60 in 83 appearances while the pair were at Young Boys, and he is just one of several names.

In just one season under the guidance of Hutter, Spanish striker Jonathan Soriano scored a staggering 46 goals in 49 games for RedBull Salzburg in the 2014-15 season.

More recently, the likes of Wissam Ben Yedder and Mika Biereth have enjoyed superb progression under the manager.

Xavi Simons

Hutter has received huge credit for the way Maghnes Akliouche developed under his watch at Monaco.

The 24-year-old broke through under the Austrian in the 2023-24 season and was given plenty of chances in Ligue 1.

Last season saw the France international take on a new level under Hutter, attracting interest from throughout Europe.

Akliouche received the exact type of attention that Xavi Simons appears to require, with the young Dutchman still struggling to find his feet since his summer arrival.

The Netherlands international was frequently isolated under Thomas Frank, and has shown little improvement under Tudor.

Souza

Souza has walked into an incredibly difficult situation at Tottenham since completing his move from Santos, but the left-back has still managed to show promise.

And with Hutter's potential arrival on the cards, the 19-year-old could be set for the perfect manager to handle the next steps of his development.

The Austrian oversaw the transformation at Eintracht Frankfurt that turned Filip Kostic from a disappointing attacker to a staggeringly effective left-wing-back.

The Serbian scored 26 goals and provided 48 assists across three seasons under Hutter, eventually earning himself a move to Juventus.

Tottenham will hope a move away is not on the cards for Souza, but that his development can take a similar trajectory, with the right leadership.
