Tottenham have reportedly shortlisted Sean Dyche as a potential candidate to replace under-fire interim manager Igor Tudor.

According to a new report from the Independent, Spurs' chiefs are considering appointing Dyche to a short-term contract amid uncertainty around Tudor's position in charge.

Dyche is looked at as a “survival specialist” by Tottenham, but is believed to be reluctant to take on a short-term role, and complications around his settlement from Nottingham Forest may also arise should he be approached by the North London club.

Tudor has lost all of his first four games in charge of Spurs since replacing Thomas Frank as boss, with the club currently hovering just one point above the relegation zone in 16th place.

Their 5-2 Champions League defeat to Atletico Madrid in midweek has seen serious doubts emerge around the 47-year-old's position in charge, with Dyche now touted to be Tottenham's next manager.

Tottenham fans fume at Sean Dyche managerial links - 'It would confirm relegation'

Dyche was sacked by fellow relegation-battlers Nottingham Forest in January after just 114 days in charge, as he won six, drew four and lost eight of his 18 league games in charge.

He is an experienced Premier League boss, with 350 games managed in the division up to now, and has garnered a reputation for building teams that are hard to beat, but not pleasing to watch.

Tottenham could well relieve Tudor of his duties soon, as he struggles to improve their performances, but the majority of their fans do not want to see Dyche hired as his replacement.

Taking to X to react to news of him being linked, one fan said: "Anyone but Dyche. The club is as good as dead if we bring Dyche in."

While another added: "Sean Dyche would confirm our relegation; he'd be Frank 2.0."

And one said: "Can people drop the we should get Dyche nonsense. What part of getting into a relegation battle playing deep and smash it up the pitch would make you think Dyche would help? It’s a doubling down on what we have done all season."

Who are the other candidates to replace Tudor at Tottenham?

Sources have told Football Insider that Ryan Mason could return to Tottenham and is seen as a "good fit" to replace Tudor if a decision is taken to let him go.

Glenn Hoddle and Tim Sherwood are both believed to be interested in taking the job, while Harry Redknapp has also admitted he is open to a return, but has not been approached by the club as yet.

Spurs hero Jurgen Klinsmann is another who has said that he would replace the Croatian boss if approached to do so in their hour of need.
