Sources: How close Tottenham are to agreeing Savinho deal

Tottenham are advancing in talks with Man City over a deal to sign Savinho with a deal set to be completed before the window closes, sources have told Football Insider.

Savinho has been on Spurs' radar for over 12 months after seeing their efforts to sign him blocked by Pep Guardiola last summer.

The Brazilian winger was told that he would be a part of the City manager's plans for the campaign, but only managed to make seven Premier League starts.

Tottenham have reignited their interest in a move this summer, with Roberto De Zerbi keen to bolster his options on the wing.

They have agreed personal terms with the 22-year-old, and as I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider's Transfer Insider podcast, all parties are confident of a deal being completed before the window closes.

He is reportedly pushing to move to North London, with a package worth £60million believed to be enough to finalise the deal.

Tottenham now close to sealing full agreement for Savinho

Savinho has struggled to make a real impact at City since joining from Troyes in 2024, with seven goals and 13 assists in 84 appearances for the club.

His talent is yet to be realised in the Premier League, but De Zerbi feels like he would be the perfect addition to Spurs' attacking ranks as a move edges closer.

Speaking on the Transfer Insider podcast, I explained: "I think it's getting there. It's been ongoing for a number of weeks and months now.

"We know Tottenham's interest is there, they’re long-term admirers of Savinho and Roberto De Zerbi has admitted they are looking to make further attacking signings in this window if possible.

"Savinho is a top target for them. Talks have been ongoing with Manchester City. The expectation is that this deal probably will get done before the close of the window with Savinho making the move to North London."

De Zerbi is now focusing on bolstering his attack after signing a host of defenders and midfielders earlier on in the window.

Savinho is not the only winger being targeted as it stands, with Liverpool star Gakpo also on their radar this summer.

Sources have exclusively revealed to Football Insider that Tottenham will have to offer £70m to sign Gakpo in the last few weeks of the window.

Liverpool boss Andoni Iraola is an admirer of the Dutchman and does not want him to leave given their current lack of depth in the final third.
