Sources: Tottenham given green light to agree Endrick deal
Real Madrid are preparing to entertain loan offers for Endrick amid interest from Tottenham Hotspur, sources have told Football Insider.
Jose Mourinho had been keen to keep the 20-year-old as part of his squad for the coming season, but he has played just four minutes of senior football under the new boss.
After he was allowed to leave and join Lyon on loan last January, that situation could now repeat itself, with Tottenham among the clubs on alert over his availability.
As I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider's Transfer Insider podcast, Tottenham are keeping a close eye on Endrick's situation and could make a move when the window opens.
Roberto De Zerbi is keen to strengthen his attacking options in the mid-season transfer window after being left short of depth up front.
As a result, Endrick's potential availability is likely to be something Spurs look to explore, although they won't be alone with a number of clubs keen to do a deal.
Could Tottenham make a move to sign Endrick?
Football Insider revealed on 6 October that Tottenham will be more restrained in the January transfer window, and are not aiming to spend huge fees on new players.
That is despite their desire to sign a new striker, meaning a loan move for Endrick could fit in perfectly with their strategy given the minimal funds and risk involved.
The Real Madrid striker has made just 41 appearances for Los Blancos, and they are keen for him to play more regular football, with a move to Spurs now firmly on the cards.
Speaking on the Transfer Insider podcast, I explained: "If Endrick does become available in the January transfer window, there'll be a number of clubs who would be interested in the Brazilian.
"He’s struggled for minutes under Jose Mourinho this season, just four minutes in the first team as a substitute in one of the games and he is well down the pecking order at the Bernabeu.
"Real Madrid allowed him to go out on loan last January where he really caight fire at Lyon, and they now seem to be open to doing that again.
"Tottenham would be interested in him as they probably will be looking to add to their attacking options in January, so if he becomes available, that could be something they explore."
Which other clubs are interested in Endrick?
Despite holding a strong interest in signing Endrick this summer, Spurs are far from the only club keeping tabs on the Real Madrid striker in case he becomes available.
His former club Lyon, as well as a number of Italian outfits and Premier League rivals, are all keeping a close eye on his situation ahead of the January transfer window.
For example, former Aston Villa scout Mick Brown told Football Insider in August that Unai Emery's side have shown an interest in signing Endrick in the near future.
Despite ultimately landing Nicolas Jackson to strengthen their attacking options, the Real Madrid striker remains high on their list of options to further bolster the position.
The likes of Liverpool and Man United have also been linked with moves for Endrick, and there is a growing possibility we could see him in the Premier League.
