Sources: Tottenham star Richarlison in advanced talks to join new club

Trabzonspor are advancing in talks with Tottenham over a late move to sign Richarlison, sources have told Football Insider.

Richarlison is looking to leave Spurs this week after failing to make an exit before the close of the English transfer window.

He was linked with a return to Everton ahead of the deadline, but the move broke down before terms could even be agreed.

Roberto De Zerbi has left him out of the club's Premier League squad for the campaign ahead, even though he started in their season opener at Brentford.

As I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider's Transfer Insider podcast, the Brazilian is likely to leave for Trabzonspor before the Turkish window ends on Friday night.

The Super Lig side have agreed personal terms with his camp and are in the process of finalising negotiations ahead of 10pm.

Richarlison took to social media after his Everton move failed to reveal that his "intention" was to return to Merseyside, but he was content with being an option to De Zerbi this season.

That will not be the case after he was left out of their PL squad, and he is now close to joining Mo Salah at Trabzonspor in a permanent deal.

Speaking on the Transfer Insider podcast, I explained: "It's a good possibility that he could end up in Turkey. Trabzonspor have made a couple of offers for him, which have been turned down by Tottenham so far.

"They are willing to offer Richarlison a lucrative package to try and lure him to Turkey."

Spurs spending to save De Zerbi from early sack this season

Tottenham certainly need to improve in Richarlison's absence, after losing their first two league games of the season by an aggregate score of 5-0.

De Zerbi's side travel to Nottingham Forest on Saturday looking for their first three points of the campaign.

Former Everton CEO Keith Wyness has exclusively revealed to Football Insider that De Zerbi is not likely to be sacked anytime soon after being given huge backing throughout the recent window.

Including potential add-ons, Spurs committed £334million towards 10 new signings for the Italian boss over the summer.
