Sources: Tottenham to accept half-price Richarlison offer after Everton deal agreed
Tottenham Hotspur are prepared to accept a cut-price offer to sell Richarlison in January, sources have told Football Insider.
The 29-year-old has had a public falling out with Roberto De Zerbi and has been entirely left out of the Premier League squad, making his mid-season exit inevitable.
However, Spurs are aware they can no longer command the £35million fee which they had reached an agreement with Everton over during the summer transfer window.
Instead, as I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider's Transfer Inisder podcast, Tottenham could now accept offers worth half of Everton's summer offer.
Spurs are likely to set an asking price of £15-20million on the striker, with a number of clubs across world football still interested in luring him away.
Richarlison has been clear about his intentions and that he will not be bullied into leaving the club, but amid the growing interest, a move away is expected to be agreed.
How to Tottenham feel about selling Richarlison?
Football Insider revealed on 10 September that Richarlison will leave Tottenham in January, and there is no chance of him working his way back into De Zerbi's plans.
Following the end of the Premier League's transfer window, Spurs had been keen to shift the striker to Saudi Arabia or Turkey, where the windows remained open.
Having to accept a cut-price deal will come as a blow to the club who had been set to rake in £35million, but with less than a year left on his contract, they are in a tricky position.
Speaking on the Transfer Insider podcast, I explained: "His value is only going to drop because of the length of his contract. He'll be into the final six months of his deal in January.
"The January transfer window will be Tottenham's last chance to cash in on him, otherwise they will risk losing him for free next summer.
"As you said, £35million was the price tag on his head in the summer when Everton were linked with the move to bring him back to the club with an agreement in place.
"You'd be looking probably now that that's halved at least, probably between £15-20 million if Tottenham are to sell him in January."
Which clubs could move to sign Richarlison?
Richarlison's availability has placed a number of clubs on high alert, with Tottenham keen to attract suitors as they hope to land the biggest fee possible in January.
Clubs in the Premier League have been keen, while those across Europe, Saudi Arabia and even Brazil have also been keeping a close eye on his situation.
Former Everton CEO Keith Wyness told Football Insider on 20 September that he expects Richarlison to end up at Brazilian outfit Vasco da Gama, where he started his career.
The Brazilian side failed with a late attempt to sign the forward during the summer window, but have been backed to return in January.
However, their willingness to part with a big fee in their pursuit has been questioned, and instead a deal could be agreed for a much lower fee given his contract situation.
