Bayern Munich do not want to sell Kim Min-jae to Tottenham in the January transfer window, sources have told Football Insider.

New reports have claimed that Tottenham are keeping tabs on Kim amid a long-term interest in his services.

Jose Mourinho wanted to sign him for Spurs in 2020, but the club decided against stumping up over £3.5million for his services as he ultimately joined Fenerbahce from Beijing Guoan.

The 29-year-old has struggled for regular starts at Bayern over the last 12 months and has been linked away ahead of January.

Spurs are still reportedly keen on his services, but as I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider's Transfer Insider podcast, Vincent Kompany is set to block him from leaving midway through the campaign.

The German giants want to keep their squad as it is for the rest of the season as they chase success on several fronts.

Kim Min-jae to Spurs unlikely in January window

Roberto De Zerbi added several centre-backs to his ranks in the summer window, but Spurs have still struggled defensively in this campaign.

Kim may well have emerged onto their radar in the last few weeks, but Bayern want him to stay until next summer at least, when he will have one year left on his contract.

Speaking on the Transfer Insider podcast, I explained: "Kim is a player who has been on the radar of a number of Premier League clubs for a number of years. I don't expect anything to happen in January, because I don't think Bayern Munich would want to weaken their squad.

"We're getting the suggestions that Bayern could be willing to let him leave, but I don't think that's the plan right now. I think Kompany wants to keep hold of Kim Min-jae. And obviously Bayern are going for honours in the Bundesliga and also the Champions League, they won't want to weaken their squad."

Pedro Porro could join Barcelona despite Tottenham contract extension

Porro has earned plaudits at Spurs over the last few seasons despite their constant defensive struggles.

His stock rose over the summer as he played a key role in Spain's World Cup triumph from right-back just a month after signing a new long-term deal at Tottenham.

Despite that agreement, sources have exclusively revealed to Football Insider that Porro could be tempted to leave if Barcelona make an approach for his services.

The 27-year-old could push to depart North London if Spurs' struggles continue under De Zerbi and they fail to push to qualify for European football again.
