Tottenham marquee 'deal will get done' before window shuts
Tottenham are well-placed to sign Savinho this summer as he is keen to play regularly rather than sit on the bench, sources have told Football Insider.
Savinho was only handed seven Premier League starts by Pep Guardiola last season as he struggled to make an impact.
The 22-year-old's output decreased as Antoine Semenyo's arrival pushed him down the pecking order in attack.
New Citizens manager Enzo Maresca is content to see him leave before the window closes as Spurs eye a move.
As I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider's Transfer Insider podcast, Savinho is also keen to leave the Etihad Stadium in search of regular minutes.
Maresca wants another attacker through the door to replace the Brazilian in his squad, so an exit is not imminent before the competitive season gets underway.
Savinho wants Tottenham move for more game time
Sources have revealed to Football Insider that City will accept an offer worth £60million for Savinho this summer.
He registered five goals and three assists in 39 appearances last season, with just two contributions in 24 PL matches.
If he joins Spurs, he will be competing for places in attack with the likes of Mathys Tel, Mohammed Kudus, James Maddison, as well as Wilson Odobert and Dejan Kulusevski when they return to full fitness.
Speaking on the Transfer Insider podcast, I explained: "There'll be an expectation that Savinho is keen on a move away to Tottenham. They will offer him that platform for regular first team football and it's probably something that Manchester City can't offer to him right now.
"The expectation is that this deal probably will get done before the close of the window with Savinho making the move to North London."
What has Maresca said about Savinho's future?
Savinho remains in City's plans for pre-season after starting against Inter Milan and coming on at half-time against the K-League All Stars.
He could feature against Atletico Madrid on Sunday before likely making Maresca's squad for the Community Shield against Arsenal on 16 August.
The Italian has refused to rule out an exit for the Brazilian, however, with talks ongoing with Tottenham, saying: "In this moment, there is much speculation about our players - Savi is not the only one.
"While Savinho is here, we're going to try and do our best to help him (to see) how he can improve, and then unfortunately, as we said many times with the transfer window open, anything can happen. We need to be ready for that."
