Tottenham 'plan to accept' new Richarlison offer

Tottenham Hotspur are prepared to accept offers for Richarlison this summer but will only do so if they can bring in a replacement first.

The 29-year-old has long been linked with a move away from the North London club, but has stuck around and played a regular role under Roberto De Zerbi.

However, given their lack of depth in attacking areas, Spurs believe they must first bring in a new striker before letting any of their forward players leave the club.

Former Tottenham scout Mick Brown told Football Insider that Spurs are ready to accept offers for Richarlison should they arrive, but any deal may be more complicated.

De Zerbi and the Tottenham rectruitment team have been working to identify new strikers to add to their squad after what has been a big-spending window so far.

Concerns about both Richarlison and Dominic Solanke have forced them into the market, but while their search is ongoing, neither player will be allowed to leave.

Could Tottenham accept offers for Richarlison?

Brown told Football Insider during the January transfer window that Richarlison would be allowed to leave Tottenham, with a summer move more likely.

However, with the summer window now well underway, there are concerns that losing the Brazil international would only add to their concerns up front.

This comes amid ongoing concerns about Solanke, while Will Lankshear has now completed a big-money move to Middlesbrough after spending the season on loan.

"We speak about Richarlison in almost every transfer window," Brown told Football Insider.

"I'm told Tottenham have been ready to let him go for a while, but the problem they have is, they aren't exactly blessed with great depth in that centre-forward position.

"Richarlison isn't consistent enough, but Dominic Solanke can't stay fit, Kolo Muani has gone back to his parent club, and Tel hasn't proved he can lead the line.

"So let's say they let Richarlison leave now, they're left with Solanke and Tel, and neither of those players are stitched-on certainties.

"I'm sure Tottenham would like to move Richarlison on, because he's not been at his best for a couple of years now, but they'll only be able to do that if they can sign a replacement.

"Realistically, they want to bring somebody in before they let any of their strikers go, so De Zerbi and the scouting team will have been having a look at different targets.

"They haven't been afraid to spend money this summer, and I expect they will be prepared to spend again, but they really need a consistent striker to lead the line."

Which strikers are on Tottenham's radar this summer?

Tottenham's need for a regular goalscorer has become obvious in recent seasons, with back-to-back 17th-placed finishes underlined by the lack of a consistent striker.

During their pre-season friendly clash against Auckland FC on 26 July, both Richarlison and Dane Scarlett found the net, but they remain in need of a serious upgrade.

As a result, Football Insider revealed on 12 July that Tottenham are lining up a "huge" offer to sign Eli Junior Kroupi from Bournemouth to bolster their attacking ranks.

The 20-year-old enjoyed a stellar first season in the Premier League, where he scored 13 goals in 33 appearances, largely playing alongside or just behind Evanilson.

Meanwhile, Spurs have also been targeting moves for the likes of Omar Marmoush from Man City, while speculation has also seen World Cup winner Ferran Torres linked.
