Tottenham line up ‘huge’ Eli Junior Kroupi offer as Bournemouth’s new stance revealed
Tottenham are willing to pay £85million for Eli Junior Kroupi but Bournemouth are set to demand an even bigger fee for his services, sources have told Football Insider.
Kroupi emerged as a key player for Bournemouth last season following a £12million move from Lorient.
He scored 13 goals in 33 Premier League appearances to fire the Cherries to the Europa League ahead of next season.
His fine form has seen several top clubs add him to their transfer wishlists, but Bournemouth are keen to retain his services under new boss Marco Rose.
As I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider's Transfer Insider podcast, Tottenham will have to offer above £85m to land Kroupi as Bournemouth stand firm over a sale.
Spurs are one of the clubs reportedly keen on signing the 20-year-old, with Roberto De Zerbi orchestrating a huge squad rebuild after they narrowly avoided relegation last season.
Tottenham have already spent close to £200m on Sandro Tonali and Mateus Fernandes, and will have to take their spending to even bigger heights to prise the French youngster away from the Vitality Stadium.
Speaking on the Transfer Insider podcast, I explained: "Tottenham are willing to go to £85m for Junior Kroupi, which is a huge fee, but even then, Bournemouth would likely turn that down.
"A deal is highly unlikely because they want to try and keep hold of their best players under the new manager, Marco Rose. Over the years, they've seen their best players prised away, so they don't want that to happen again with European football to look forward to.
"For Spurs, it’s a very ambitious move for them to try and get ahead of all the clubs in this race for Junior Kroupi, but he is under contract until 2030 at Bournemouth, and they are under no immediate pressure to cash in on him or anything like that as well.
Mikey Moore set for Tottenham exit as Borussia Dortmund eye move
While Kroupi could arrive in North London soon, fellow starlet Moore looks likely to depart the club again on another loan deal this summer.
The 18-year-old registered seven goals and four assists in 47 games for Rangers last season and is on the radar of several big clubs as it stands.
They would like him back at Ibrox for next term, but sources have revealed to Football Insider that Borussia Dortmund want to sign Moore on loan as he seeks a step up in competition.
Moore is keen to leave Tottenham for regular game time at senior level as he eyes an eventual spot in their starting eleven for years to come.
