Lucas Bergvall is pushing to leave Tottenham this summer and numerous new midfield signings could see him allowed to leave, sources have told Football Insider.

The 20-year-old struggled for game time towards the end of last season as Spurs avoided relegation under Roberto De Zerbi.

The Tottenham boss is keen to add numerous midfielders to his ranks this summer, with Mateus Fernandes' arrival from West Ham announced earlier this week.

Widespread reports have claimed that Bergvall is exploring his options away from the club, with numerous Premier League sides linked to his services.

It is being consistently reported that Tottenham are adamant that the young midfielder will not be allowed to leave.

As I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider's Transfer Insider podcast, the Swedish starlet wants a new challenge and Tottenham will in fact let him leave for the right price this summer.

Sandro Tonali is also expected to arrive in North London soon in a club-record £100million move from Newcastle.

Bergvall will be competing for minutes with six other central midfielders if the Italy star joins in the coming days, so game time would be at a premium next season.

Lucas Bergvall set to be sold by Spurs if the right offer arrives

The 20-year-old registered five goal contributions in 33 appearances last season, but featured for just 10 minutes off the bench across Spurs' vital final four games of the campaign.

His contract still runs until 2031, so any interested sides will have to stump up a sizeable fee to seal his signature this summer.

Speaking on the Transfer Insider podcast, I explained: "Bergvall himself has indicated that he would like to leave Tottenham this summer for a new challenge.

"Tottenham reluctantly would allow him to move on for the right offer, and they've obviously spent big in midfield with Sandro Tonali and Mateus Fernandes on the verge of joining the club as well so that would likely push Lucas Bergvall down the pecking order.

"With this big transfer outlay, Spurs are going to have to balance the books, so selling somebody like Bergvall, who they'll make a big profit on having signed him from Sweden, I think could be smart business."

Sources: Mathys Tel ready to 'push' for Tottenham exit on one condition

Mathys Tel also ready to push for Tottenham exit amid game time concerns

Tel earned a key role under De Zerbi towards the end of the season, but his future remains uncertain as it stands.

He registered four goals and two assists in 38 appearances throughout the campaign, and new arrivals could push him down the pecking order.

Sources have revealed to Football Insider that Tel may push to leave Spurs if he is not assured of regular starts next season.

Tottenham are reportedly targeting the likes of Rafael Leao, Eli Junior Kroupi and Maghnes Akliouche to bolster their forward line.
