Wilson Odobert: How new Tottenham signings could force him out
Wilson Odobert could leave Tottenham in the January window if he struggles for minutes after returning from injury, sources have told Football Insider.
Odobert has been linked away from Spurs in this window but will not depart before Tuesday's transfer deadline passes.
The French winger has been sidelined since February, when he suffered an ACL rupture as Tottenham faced Newcastle.
He is believed to be back in light training ahead of a return before the end of the year, but has seen the competition for places in the Spurs team increase throughout this summer.
As I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider's Transfer Insider podcast, the club are drawing up plans to potentially loan him out in the January window if he is deemed to be surplus to requirements.
Savio and Omar Marmoush have arrived from Man City to potentially feature on the wing under Roberto De Zerbi, while the Italian also views Pedro Porro as an option on the right flank.

Mohammed Kudus is also back fit to possibly play out wide, while Mikey Moore could stay at Spurs despite being heavily linked with a loan move away.
Odobert displayed his talent in glimpses last season, registering two goals and four assists in 33 appearances before his injury.
Fans will have to bide their time to see him back in action, and he may well struggle to feature regularly even when he returns to full fitness soon.
Speaking on the Transfer Insider podcast, I explained: "He'll remain at Tottenham after the close of the window, and then maybe reassess things in the January window if he's not getting any look in under Roberto De Zerbi, with now Tottenham strengthening their side with midfield reinforcements and a new winger in Savio as well."

Spurs are unlikely to complete several big-name sales in the last knockings of the window, giving De Zerbi several months to organise his squad and get a clearer picture on who he wants to feature regularly.
Maddison's return from a long-term injury was accelerated by the Italian at the end of last season, and he has been struck down by another problem, this time with his shoulder, in the first weeks of this campaign.
He is facing a few weeks out as it stands, and sources have revealed to Football Insider that Maddison's poor injury history is pushing Spurs into deciding to sell him in the next window.
The 29-year-old is set to enter the final 18 months of his contract in January and has attracted interest from other Premier League clubs this summer.
