Tottenham are in the hunt for Everton attacker Ademola Lookman after he was squeezed to the fringes of the squad at Goodison Park, according to a report.
The Mirror claims that Spurs are keeping track of the 19-year-old’s situation with Ronald Koeman reluctant to play wingers at the minute.
It is understood that Tottenham’s Premier League rivals Crystal Palace and Huddersfield are also interested in the England Under-21 international, with the latter making an approach to sign him on loan in the summer transfer window.
Lookman signed for Everton in January for £11million from Charlton, but after a dream start on Merseyside he has since dropped down the pecking order and has barely featured this season.
Across all competitions, the attack-minded winger, who is known for his explosive pace, has made just four appearances and has even been playing in the Under-23 side to get some football under his belt.
The youngster is yet to play a single game in the English top-flight this season despite scoring on his debut against Manchester City earlier this year.
Football Insider Verdict
Lookman deserves to be getting more football than he currently is at Everton and he may start to look for a move away if things don’t improve. Koeman has brought in a lot of players this summer whereas Spurs still could do with an extra body or two in attack. Lookman would be the perfect answer to that. He is young and already proven himself capable in the Premier League. The teenager is also only going to get better. He may cost a lot more than the £11million paid for him in January, but if he kicks up enough of a fuss at Goodison, his price-tag may be lowered. Alternatively, a loan move to Palace or Huddersfield could be a good short-term fix.
