Tottenham idol issues '100 per cent' claim after 'big' Son Heung-min reveal

Paul Robinson has heaped praise on Tottenham after their 1-1 draw with Liverpool on Saturday.

The ex-White Hart Lane number one, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, is adamant the result was “100 per cent a point gained” for Antonio Conte’s side despite the fact Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg spurned a late chance.

Tottenham lost further ground in the race for the top four after drawing at Anfield.

However, speaking to BT Sport post-match (7 May), Spurs goalscorer Son Heung-min claimed the draw “is a big point” for the Lilywhites in their quest to qualify in the Champions League spots.

Arsenal travel to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Thursday in what is a must-win game for the hosts.

When asked by Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs for his assessment of the result, Robinson said: “Taking a step away from it, it is definitely a point gained.

“When you go to Liverpool you do not expect to come away with anything.

“I think they played extremely well and were deserving of their point. The Hojbjerg opportunity at the end was a big opportunity and because of that you can say that they should have got more.

“It is about producing that level of performance on a regular basis. Spurs have impressed at Man City and Liverpool but the games in between have cost them. The inconsistency is the problem.

“The result at the weekend is 100 per cent a point gained rather than two lost though. If you offered Spurs a point the morning of the game they would have taken it, of course they would.”
