Tottenham insider expects 'attractive offer' for Kessie as January pre-contract on the cards

Tottenham are looking to sign Franck Kessie from AC Milan on a pre-contract agreement this January.

That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.

Kessie, 24, is out of contract next summer and, according to 90min (27 September) has turned down AC Milan’s latest contract offer.

90min’s report also claims the Ivory Coast international is prioritising a move to the Premier League.

The holding midfielder has played in all of Milan’s Serie A games this season but was sent off in the Champions League on Tuesday.

Wenham has confirmed Spurs’ interest in Kessie and predicts Fabio Paratici’s experience in Italy can help his side land the player.

“I know one player they are looking at is Kessie of AC Milan,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“He is a holding midfielder and he can bring more of that Serie A experience Paratici loves.

“He’s 24 and could come straight into the starting eleven. Let’s see where that one goes.

“There will be a lot of teams interested in him as a free contract player. He probably has a market value of around £40million as a valuable holding midfielder.

“Tottenham have been linked with him and I think the club will present an attractive offer to him.

“We can offer him good wages if he comes on a free transfer pre-contract arrangement.

“This is one Paratici will be working on with his links to the Serie A.”

Kessie signed for AC Milan initially on loan from Atalanta in 2017.

He has gone on to make 190 appearances for the Italian giants.
