Sources: Dejan Kulusevski move to Tottenham is '99% done'

Tottenham have everything in place to sign Dejan Kulusevski permanently regardless of whether he activates the clauses in his contract, sources have told Football Insider.

The 22-year-old has made a big impact for Spurs since signing in January on an 18-month loan-to-buy deal.

It has been widely reported that Tottenham are obliged to pay £30million to the Sweden international’s parent club Juventus if he plays 20 Premier League games this season and they finish in the top four.

Even if those objectives are not met, Spurs will push ahead with signing Kulusevski on a permanent deal in 2023.

According to one well-placed source, the transfer is already “99 per cent” done. That is understood to include the contract terms as well as the deal with Juventus.

The 27-time Sweden international has developed into a big fans favourite since his arrival and is a nailed-on starter if fit and available.

He was sorely missed by Antonio Conte’s team while out with a thigh injury that sidelined him for nearly two months earlier in the campaign.

Kulusevski instantly improved the side when he returned as a substitute in the 2-1 defeat to Liverpool earlier this month and has already added two Premier League assists since his comeback.

He has notched one goal and three assists across nine total outings in league and European competition.

Kulusevski notched five goals and eight assists in 20 Tottenham outings last season following his arrival from Juventus.

The wide attacker has made 12 appearances in all competitions this term, scoring once and supplying five assists.
