Sources: Tottenham make decision on signing Pierluigi Gollini permanently
Tottenham have told Pierluigi Gollini they will not take up their option to sign him permanently this summer, Football Insider understands.
The goalkeeper, 27, has spent the campaign deputising for Hugo Lloris after signing from Atalanta on a season-long loan with a £13million option to buy.
A Spurs source has told Football Insider that Antonio Conte and the club’s coaching staff have not been convinced enough by Gollini to want to sign him permanently.
This site revealed on 24 March that Spurs had no plans to sign Gollini full-time and their final decision has now been made.
His loan is believed to be an obligation to buy if he makes 20 first-team appearances this season.
But the number two played the last of his 10 Spurs matches in the League Cup semi-final second leg defeat to Chelsea in January.

Tottenham could look to negotiate a cheaper deal for Gollini but that is not believed to be their plan and the player and his club Atalanta have been informed.
The Londoners are instead in the market for a new keeper capable of providing cover and competition for long-standing skipper Lloris.
The France World Cup winner has started all 37 of Spurs’ Premier League matches this season and played a key role as the team has chased down a top-four finish that is within grasp going into the Sunday’s final round of the campaign.
Gollini’s 10 appearances have come in the Europa Conference League, the FA Cup and the League Cup, and he has been on the bench since their January elimination from those competitions.
Gollini was previously at Aston Villa and Man United before establishing himself in his native Italy.
He has made 112 appearances for Atalanta and was the club’s first-choice stopper last season.
