Tottenham now plot summer swoop for assist king after Jan talks fail - reports

Tottenham are now plotting to sign Ajax winger David Neres in the summer after not managing to snap him up during the January transfer window, according to a report.
Goal claims that Spurs are planning to invest in Neres, 20, for next season as the North London club casts their eyes on yet another Brazilian arrival after signing Lucas Moura on deadline day.
Goal had previously reported that they were due to hold talks about a move for Neres in January, but it appears that they must have failed with the Brazilian staying put in Amsterdam.
Neres has been in stunning form for Ajax this season, scoring nine goals in 24 appearances across all competitions.
The assist king has already created 12 goals for his team-mates as Ajax aim to win the Eredivisie title.
Football Insider verdict
Neres is one of the brightest young sparks in European football. He is bound to move away from Ajax in the near future and get a break in one of Europe’s biggest leagues. Tottenham fans had better hope that it is their club that gets him though because there is bound to be a lot of interest in the Brazilian youth international over the summer, especially if he keeps up his form for the rest of the campaign. Spurs did well to sign Lucas on deadline day. He will add a lot of strength in depth to Mauricio Pochettino’s squad as they aim to win some major silverware. He is also experienced in the Champions League and that could prove to be a massive plus point.
In the latest Tottenham news, the club’s supporters reacted to the confirmed signing of Lucas.
