Ben Davies is set to be surplus to requirements at Tottenham in the upcoming summer window, sources have told Football Insider.

It is believed Davies, 31, is set to depart Spurs in the off-season after Ange Postecoglou's scathing media comments.

Postecoglou has publicly claimed he wants “drastic change” this summer, with sources saying a “huge” overhaul is being planned to ensure the squad is capable of playing his high-octane brand of football.

Davies is a big figure in the dressing room at Tottenham but it is believed his time at the club could be up.

The Wales international is under contract until the end of the 2024-25 campaign.

Davies surplus to requirements at Tottenham as Postecoglou makes decision

He has made 19 appearances across all competitions this term, starting in 14 of those outings.

Davies, who has played at centre-back and left-back during his time with Tottenham, joined from Swansea in 2014 as part of a swap deal.

The 31-year-old, who has amassed 86 caps for Wales, is currently sidelined with a calf injury.

He has made 330 appearances during his time at Spurs, notching nine goals and 23 assists.

Tottenham sit fifth in the Premier League table after seeing their top-four challenge fizzle out in recent weeks.

Postecoglou's side face Burnley, Man City and Sheffield United in their final three games of the 2023-24 campaign.
