Tottenham set to seal 'bargain' double deal after journalist's Dejan Kulusevski update - pundit

Kevin Campbell has claimed Tottenham are getting Dejan Kulusevski and Cristian Romero for “a bargain” price this summer.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Arsenal and Everton striker applauded the club for “trying before they buy” with the two players.

On 6 August, Spurs signed Cristiano Romero from Atalanta on a season-long loan with an option to make the deal permanent for £42.5million.

Dejan Kulusevski made the switch to Antonio Conte’s side at the end of the January window.

The Sweden international joined from Juventus on an 18-month loan deal with an obligation to buy upon performance-related criteria.

According to Fabrizio Romano (17 May), Spurs will sign both Romero and Kulusevski on permanent deals this summer for a combined fee of around £68million.

Conte is said to be very happy with both players, who are regular starters in north London.

When asked by Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs for his assessment of the prospective deals, Campbell said: “That’s a bargain.”

“It is good business because they have tried before they buy.

“Both players have made a real difference to Spurs. They’re both at a good age as well. You’d expect them to get better.

“Listen, it will be interesting to see them sign and see how they go next season.”

Romero has been Tottenham’s outstanding defender this season and has made 30 appearances across all competitions.

Kulusevski has contributed three goals and eight assists in 17 Premier League appearances.
