Tottenham continued their perfect start in the Champions League with a convincing 3-0 win away to Cypriot side Apoel Nicosia .

Harry Kane's 'perfect' hat trick, scored with his left foot, his right foot and his head, secured the victory to add to the North London side's previous 3-1 win over Borussia Dortmund two week's ago.

Kane grabbed a double against the German side, and he was able to more than double his tally against Apoel to take his total to five European goals this season.

The result places Spurs second in Group H, with their next clash in the competition coming against reigning champions Real Madrid, who currently top the group.

So what can fans take away from the club's clash in Cyprus ahead of their return to domestic football against Huddersfield?

Harry Kane continues to prove himself

Former Tottenham midfielder Jermaine Jenas said prior to Tuesday's clash that Harry Kane needed to prove himself in the Champions League to be considered world class.

The striker was obviously listening.

Yes, it was not against one of the bigger club's in Europe's premier competition, but it was still a show of the England striker's natural goal scoring talent.

His opener was a calm finish, his second a drilled strike and his third a deft header, which demonstrated that he is an all round striker.

The Tottenham man is on fire, as he has been for three consecutive seasons, and he is showing no signs of stopping.

Son: All effort, no product

If there was an award for the most energetic performance, then chances are Heung-min Son would win every time hands down.

However, while he demonstrated his impressive attacking quality last season with 21 goals, he is yet to hit the same heights this season.

Fans often see the South Korean international as one of the most advanced players on the pitch, yet despite all his time in the opposition box he has just one goal and no assists in his seven appearances.

It is a disappointing return which continued against Apoel, although there can be no questions about his willingness to do his utmost for Spurs.

Sanchez deserves the axe

Despite the convincing scoreline, it was not a convincing performance from Spurs, as they allowed Apoel to test Hugo Lloris on several occasions.

One man guilty of not performing at the standards expected was Davinson Sanchez, who looked unconvincing in Pochettino's three man defence.

Lining up alongside Ben Davies and Toby Alderweireld, the summer signing was a weak link with a series of errors.

He was caught on the ball, beaten by pace and demonstrated a lack of positional awareness as Apoel were able to break through the defence several times.

Pochettino should be considering dropping the axe on Sanchez, with Jan Vertonghen available after missing out through suspension, although the manager's tactical decisions could force his hand.
