Tottenham tipped to complete three new signings after Kieran Maguire's '£400m' reveal - pundit

Antonio Conte will look to “put his own stamp” on his Tottenham side by signing “two or three” players in January, according to Kevin Campbell.

The former Arsenal striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, claimed the 52-year-old must address the “spine of the team” at Spurs.

Finance expert Kieran Maguire has told Football Insider that Tottenham can spend “£400million over the next three years” before falling foul of any financial fair play regulations.

The Italian boss has already lined up his first signing as Spurs manager, with Stefan De Vrij firmly on Conte’s radar ahead of the winter window.

A source with knowledge of De Vrij’s situation has told Football Insider that he is aware of interest from Tottenham and is keen to hear what they have to say.

Campbell targeted central midfield as another position in which Spurs are lacking.

“He has to look to strengthen that spine of the team,” he told Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs.

“Central midfield, particularly, is an area where they need to be fitter, but you can change that with the training methods.

“But Conte will want to put his own stamp on the team and make his mark, and that may take up to three players coming in. Obviously, they’ve bought players in the summer but that was a different manager entirely.

“We always see new managers coming in and wanting to shape the teams their way and getting them playing in their own image.

“There could be a couple of changes coming at Spurs.”

Conte takes charge of his first Premier League home game as Tottenham manager on Sunday against Leeds United.

The former Chelsea boss signed a two-year deal earlier this month.
