Tottenham told to submit £20m Ings bid after journalist update - Agbonlahor
Tottenham should launch a £20million bid for wantaway striker Danny Ings, according to Gabby Agbonlahor.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England forward claimed now is the perfect time to launch a move for the 28-year-old.
The Athletic’s David Ornstein reported yesterday (5 June) Ings has turned down a new contract with Southampton that would have made him their most expensive player.
His current deal expires in 2022 but it is claimed he wants to join a team competing at the top of the table.
Spurs will likely need to sign a new striker this summer after Football Insider revealed on April 9 Harry Kane wants to quit the club.
“I think a move for Ings is a great idea,” Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.

“For me, if I was a Spurs player, a Spurs fan, I’d be saying ‘You know what, we haven’t got the money this is the perfect time to get Danny Ings.’
“He’s got a year left and what better time to get him? He’s 28, he’s reached his peak and you may get him for under £20million with a year left. It just makes sense. He could be added back-up to Harry Kane.
“For me, Spurs should be breaking their legs to go and get him.”
Ings scored 12 goals in 26 Premier League games for Southampton last term.
The England international has scored 55 times in 140 top-flight games across spells with Burnley, Liverpool and the Saints.
