Tottenham are prioritising signing a marquee striker this summer after failing to replace Harry Kane last year, sources have told Football Insider

Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed the likes of English duo Ivan Toney, 28, and Dominic Solanke, 26, are potential targets as Ange Postecoglou looks to add more firepower to his side.

The Brazil international has flattered to deceive since joining the club from Everton in 2022 and could leave north London this summer despite being under contract until 2027.

O’Rourke expects Tottenham to be busy in the upcoming window following Postecoglou’s scathing comments around the “rebuild” of his side.

Tottenham could sign Ivan Toney or Dominic Solanke to replace Richarlison

Toney has been on Tottenham’s radar for some time after Football Insider first revealed in November last year the club were ready to go head-to-head with some of their Premier League rivals to secure his signature

Despite only scoring four goals in 17 appearances since his return from an eight-month ban in January, the Brentford forward’s stock remains high after he was included in England’s training squad ahead of the upcoming European Championships.

Reports previously suggested the Bees were looking for a fee in the region of £100million to let Toney leave the club in the January window.

Solanke is another option Tottenham are believed to be exploring after the Bournemouth star scored 21 goals in 41 appearances last season.
