Tottenham are working on deals to tie five of their first team stars to new contracts, according to a report.
The Times claim the north Londoners are keen to secure their key men to improved deals as a reward for their performances in recent times.
It is said that Tottenham are confident England internationals Harry Kane and Dele Alli will sign fresh agreements at the end of the season that will give them pay hikes taking their pay beyond £110,000-a-week.
The Times report that Spurs are also confident of agreeing a one-year contract extension with Jan Vertonghen, whose existing deal also expires next summer.
Moreover, the club are also negotiating contract extensions with attacking midfield pair Christian Eriksen and Son Heung-Min, although it is not stated whether agreements are likely at this stage.
Football Insider verdict:
Spurs chiefs are working overtime on extending the contracts of their key men at a time when the foundations are being laid for the exit of Toby Alderweireld. Expect a PR game in the coming months of reports - briefed by those close to chairman Daniel Levy - that the Belgian is not quite as influential as he was and that Davinson Sanchez and Eric Dier have the potential to soon surpass him at centre-back. Not everyone will buy that, but the bitter pill of losing the brilliant Belgian would be sweetened by new deals for Kane and company, proof that they will be at the club for at least next season.
In other Tottenham news, it can be exclusively revealed that a centre-back has agreed contract terms with Spurs.
