Tottenham youngster Marcus Edwards has suffered from a hugely frustrating loan spell at Championship side Norwich, but that could be about to change.
After signing on loan for the rest of the season, the highly-rated 19-year-old has yet to make an appearance for Norwich and has seen his attitude criticised by manager Daniel Farke.
However, the manager’s views on Edwards seem to have softened and he could be in line for his debut very soon – something that will delight Tottenham fans.
“He has every possibility,” Farke said in Football.London.
“In general, he has improved a lot, in terms of his attitude, but he can still grow up a bit more and also we have to work on strengthening his body to help his endurance and power.
“The last two weeks he was able to do proper training with us. He is not far away, not an option for this game [last night’s match against Nottingham Forest], because it is a bit too early and he has to improve a bit in some topics.
“At the latest, after the next international break but he might be involved before then.”
Football Insider verdict:
This is great news for Tottenham and for Marcus Edwards, just as it seemed like the best thing to do would be to pull the youngster back to north London. Farke is still obviously not a big fan, and the comments about his attitude are ongoing. But, this could be a big learning curve for Edwards and if his attitude does need improving, that could be the best thing that happens to him this season. When he does get his chance in a Norwich shirt, he needs to grab it with both hands.
