Contract twist: Serie A assist master eyed by Tottenham u-turns on new deal - reports

Suso’s future with AC Milan has been put under the spotlight after the playmaker stalled over signing a new deal with the Italian giants, according to a report.
Gianluca Di Marzio’s website claims that the 23-year-old wants assurances on the future direction of the club as well as a bigger financial reward, after Milan’s ownership changed hands.
It is reported that Suso had previously agreed a new deal in principle with Milan that would have kept him at the San Siro until 2021.
However, it was never ratified and now his entourage want to discuss the new owner’s plans as well as seeking more money.

This could put Tottenham and other possible suitors on high alert ahead of the summer transfer window.
As well as his 11 assists, the Spaniard has scored seven times in all competitions as he provides the creative flair for one of Europe’s biggest footballing institutions.
Milan’s number eight left Anfield back in January 2015 after ex-Reds manager Brendan Rodgers opted to sign the likes of Adam Lallana and Lazar Markovic in the 2014-15 season.
With a contract until the summer of 2019, Suso could now be tempted to jump ship if his requirements are not met by Milan’s new Chinese owners.
That could see Spurs profit, as Mauricio Pochettino looks to bolster his side in the transfer window to improve his side’s chances in the Premier League and Champions League.
Football Insider verdict:
Suso would be a fantastic signing should he be brought to White Hart Lane in the summer. His form in Italy’s top flight comes after being given time to prove himself in Milan’s side, something he was not afforded at Liverpool after breaking through their youth academy. Now in the form of his career, with plenty of years left ahead of him, the Spain Under-21 international could boost the north London outfit in the final third with his ability to create as well as his eye for goal. However, the signing of Suso could spell the end for flop signings Moussa Sissoko and Georges N’Koudou.
