Seven-figure fee agreed for Arsenal star after terms agreed – report

Published on

Arsenal FC have agreed to sell 26-year-old Francis Coquelin to Valencia after a £12m fee was agreed between the clubs, according to a report. Sky Sports reported via means of their Twitter account that the long serving Arsenal midfielder is set to join Valencia for £12m.

The news comes after

that the Frenchman had agreed personal terms with the Spanish outfit. The deal will see Coquelin end a 10 year career with Arsenal, as he joined the London based club as a youth player back in 2008, signing from Stade Lavallois. It is a big move for the out of favour midfielder, who has struggled to find regular game time under Wenger this season. The news was processed differently by the Arsenal fans, and

earlier to wish the 26-year-old luck in his new venture.

Football Insider verdict:

Now that the fee has been agreed between the clubs, Francis Coquelin can start looking forward to his newest adventure. It is more likely that the Frenchman will find his desired regular football in Spain, as the Arsenal midfield had become ever more crowded. Coquelin has enjoyed a stellar career at the Emirates, winning three major honours during his ten year career - but all good things must come to an end. His combative style of play and passion will be missed by Arsenal fans.
