Ben Chilwell is set to leave Chelsea as a deal to move clubs is on the verge of being officially announced.

The Blues have had yet another busy transfer deadline day with multiple deals discussed. Fulham reached an agreement to sign Tyrique George, with Nicolas Jackson also leaving to join Bayern Munich.

And it isn't just those two who are heading out the Stamford Bridge exit.

Chilwell is set to become the latest Chelsea player to leave Enzo Maresca's first-team, with the 28-year-old preparing to embark on his career's next chapter.

Ben Chilwell set for Chelsea exit on deadline day

Chilwell, very much out of favour in the past couple of seasons, proven by his loan to Crystal Palace last season, has finally seen his long-term future decided.

The 28-year-old will leave London permanently and sign for French club Strasbourg on a two-year deal.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Chilwell will link up with Liam Rosenior at the Stade de la Meinau Strasbourg stadium ahead of the new season, which sees the French side competing in the UEFA Europa League.

Chelsea's impressive summer business

After selling 14 players for a fee, including Noni Madueke to Arsenal for £52 million and Christopher Nkunku to AC Milan for around £36 million, Chelsea's net spend looks far more favourable from a financial perspective.

According to Transfermarkt, the Blues have a net spend of around just £10 million. Impressive figures considering how many names they've recruited this window.

While Todd Boehly may not have been a hugely popular figure during his first couple of years in charge, the US billionaire is certainly on track to win Chelsea supporters over.

The Blues, now on international break, will return to Premier League action on the 13th of September when they face Brentford away.
