'He'd be Very good signing' - Exclusive: Bent reacts to price update on Leeds-Barisic swoop

Darren Bent has backed Leeds United to "take a risk" on signing Rangers defender Borna Barisic this summer.

The former Premier League and England hitman, speaking exclusively to Football Insider assistant editor Russell Edge, believes that the 27-year-old could represent good value for money for the Whites.

Bent believes that the seven-figure fee would be a reasonable price for Leeds to spend and suggests they could afford to roll the dice on taking him to Elland Road.

Bent told Football Insider: "I mean he had a very, very good season last season, he knows what it takes to succeed at a massive club like Rangers.

"For me, I'd be all for that. For the money as well, £8million, that's money you can take a risk on because that's not that much money to be fair.

"For me, that would be a very, very good signing and he's looking to bolster his squad but he's looking to bolster it in the right areas as well."

Barisic was a constant attacking threat for Rangers last season, with 14 assists under his belt.

The 12-cap international has also helped the Light Blues keep a clean sheet in their opening two games of the new Premiership season.
