Bournemouth are submitting a bid for Stoke City striker Tyrese Campbell as they prepare for the possible exit of Josh King to Man United, Football Insider has learned.

Ole-Gunnar Solskjaer's side have had one offer for King rejected by the Cherries but are returning to the negotiating table with a new £25million bid, Football Insider revealed earlier today.

A Bournemouth source has told Football Insider the club are now setting their sights on Campbell, 20, as a potential replacement for King.

The Stoke forward only signed a new four-and-a-half year contract last Friday after coming close to quitting for one of the Glasgow giants.

He held talks with both Rangers and Celtic, and came especially close to agreeing a pre-contract with Steven Gerrard's side.

Stoke now face the prospect of fending off deadline-day interest in the son of ex-Everton and Arsenal striker Kevin Campbell.

United are working on tying up the signing of King by the 11pm cut-off tonight, which means Bournemouth have to work quick for a replacement.

The strong interest in Campbell, who has scored four goals in his last five matches, suggests they now expect the Norway international to move to Old Trafford.

King came through the academy system at Old Trafford, and actually featured under Solskjaer during his spell with United’s youth setup.

He has amassed 160 appearances for Eddie Howe's side, hitting 47 goals and 15 assists in the process.
