Hull City have agreed a deal with Brighton to sign goalkeeper Carl Rushworth on a season-long loan, sources have told Football Insider.

The 23-year-old is heading to Hull City for a medical today after agreeing a move to the Championship club.

The former England Under-21 international spent last season on loan at Swansea, where he established himself as the first-choice goalkeeper.

Rushworth proved himself capable of playing in the Championship, playing every minute of the 2023-24 campaign.

Rushworth has been on the bench for both of Brighton’s opening two Premier League games, but he hasn’t been used.

The goalkeeper is under contract with Brighton until 2027.

Hull City are looking to add a promising goalkeeper in Carl Rushworth

Hull City are in the market for a goalkeeper to bolster the defensive options available to Tim Walter.

Rushworth managed to keep 11 clean sheets last season in 48 games across all competitions for Swansea.

The promising young goalkeeper has also played 43 times in League Two and 42 games in League One earlier in his career.

Rushworth has made a total of 167 career appearances and has kept 50 clean sheets in the process.

Hull City

Ivor Pandur has started Hull City’s first three games in the Championship this season, keeping one clean sheet and conceding two goals.

The Tigers have drawn all of their league games so far this season and will be back in action on Saturday (31 August) against Leeds United.
