Furious Antonio Rudiger is planning to quit Chelsea after being offered less than Mason Mount to stay at the club, Football Insider can exclusively reveal.

The centre-back, 28, is out of contract at Stamford Bridge next summer and his future is now in greater doubt than ever before.

A source with knowledge of Rudiger's situation has told Football Insider that that the player feels he has been disrespected by Chelsea's offer of a new contract.

The package on the table is said to be less than the £140,000-a-week Mount has been offered to commit to a new long-term deal.

Rudiger is privately adamant he will now leave Chelsea when his agreement expires at the end of the season.

It represents a major problem for the Champions League holders, given the Germany international's significance to the team.

Rudiger is one of four senior defenders out of contract at the end of the season.

Andreas Christensen , Cesar Azpilicueta and Thiago Silva are also due to be free agents from next summer.

Keeping Rudiger is a priority of manager Thomas Tuchel, who has made it clear he wants to keep him.

He has been a key player under the ex-PSG boss and has started 20 Premier League and Champions League matches in total this season.

That is more than any of his outfield teammates this term and second only to goalkeeper Edouard Mendy, who has 21 starts in the two competitions.

The centre-back has made 170 appearances in total for Chelsea since signing from Roma in 2017.
