Nottingham Forest defender Alex Iacovitti has left the club for League Two Mansfield on loan.

There are high hopes for the 18-year-old Scot, who made his first team debut this season.

The club announced the loan deal via their official Twitter account and website, with Iacovitti to remain in Mansfield for the whole season.

The hope is that Iacovitti will be able to get some first-team experience under his belt before returning to Nottingham.

He was a regular in the Under-21s side last season, and has represented Scotland at Under-17 and Under-19 level.

Iacovitti made two appearances in the Championship this season. He made his debut on the opening day of the season, starting as Forest beat Burton 4-3 at the City Ground. His only other appearance came in the 3-0 defeat against Brighton.

He is the fourth player to be loaned out by Nottingham Forest on transfer deadline day.

Tyler Walker was the first to head out to Stevenage, before Jamie Ward left for a spell at Burton. Goalkeeper Dimi Evtimov has gone to Portugal to play for second tier side SC Olhanese.
