Paul Robinson has claimed Harry Winks has "two very good options" in Everton and Crystal Palace if he chooses to leave Tottenham this summer.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former White Hart Lane number one is adamant the 26-year-old idolised both Frank Lampard and Patrick Vieira in his youth.

Winks is expected to leave Tottenham in this transfer window after falling down the pecking order in north London.

An Everton source told Football Insider (19 June) that the club hope to sign the 26-year-old and have made contact over a potential deal.

According to The Sun (20 June), Palace could rival the Merseyside club for the centre-midfielder.

Robinson suggested Crystal Palace's locality could be decisive in the race for Winks' signature.

"Everything has to be taken into consideration.

"Both managers were one of the best midfielders the Premier League has ever seen. Winks has an opportunity to play for two midfielders that he probably idolised growing up.

"Palace would be an attractive proposition because he would not have to move.

"Everton have an opportunity to put some building blocks in place. I don't envision them struggling again this season.

"They need to bring in new players. Winks could be one.

"The two clubs are both very good options."

Winks made 30 appearances across all competitions in the 2021-22 campaign.

He has two years remaining on his contract with Spurs.
