Eberechi Eze a 'great signing for Tottenham' after source's reveal - pundit

Eberechi Eze is in high demand after an incredible 2023-34 campaign and would be a "great signing" for Tottenham Hotspur.

That’s the view of former Tottenham goalkeeper Paul Robinson, who was speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast.

Eze has a Palace release clause of £60million plus add-ons and Spurs are keeping close tabs on him.

However, they face stiff competition to secure the England international as Football Insider revealed that Manchester United are set to compete with them to secure his signature.

Ange Postecoglou is “obsessed” with signing a striker this summer, which means Eze might not be the priority.

Especially since Tottenham signed James Maddison last summer to bolster their attacking midfield options, bringing in another player in the same position could be further down the pecking order this time around.

Eberechi Eze’s price tag could be too much for Tottenham

“I don’t think it’s the necessity, I think he would be a luxury,” Robinson told Football Insider.

“But he would be a great signing for the club, but Tottenham won't be on their own; he’s obviously gaining a lot of admiring glances from all over Europe.

"I think Tottenham would be priced out of it in all honesty, I think they’ll be at the table, I think they’ll be playing, they’ll be interested in signing the player, but when it comes down to the final figure I think it’ll be too much for Tottenham.

“I mean, you look at what they paid for [Tanguy] Ndombele, 60 plus million, Eze’s not going to come cheap you’re in that bracket, aren’t you?

“I can’t see Tottenham paying over the odds for Eze, which I think they probably have to at this stage of his career, at this stage of the season.”
