Everton should sign Aston Villa star Leander Dendoncker this summer.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former England and Tottenham goalkeeper Paul Robinson claimed that the Toffees could get Dendoncker, 29, on a cheap deal from the Villans.

Dendoncker was sent out on loan to Serie A giants Napoli in January but has been handed just 21 minutes of action in all competitions since.

Everton should make move for Leander Dendoncker - Robinson

Meanwhile, Everton are likely to sanction sales for many of their key players this summer, including midfield stars Amadou Onana and James Garner, amid their financial struggles.

Robinson claimed that considering the Toffees' continued off-the-pitch woes, they should make a move for the "Premier League level" Belgian as he could add needed quality to their squad.

"There's a good player in there and he's the type of player that Everton would look to recruit," he told Football Insider.

"If they sell Onana and Garner and some of their better players, which would be massive, due to their financial situation, I could see it.

"There's so much talk around Everton and no one really knows what's going to happen.

"It's very difficult to talk about their transfers without knowing what league they will be in next season and what financial situation they will be in.

"But Dendoncker is the type of player that they would get cheaply, is proven at Premier League level and would fit the bill to strengthen their squad.

"They should get him if they can."
