Arsenal have set their sights on signing SC Amiens striker Serhou Guirassy this summer, an agent has revealed to Football Insider.

The Gunners are understood to be scouring the transfer market for striking reinforcements as doubts surround the long-term futures of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette.

An Arsenal source has told Football Insider that the club watched Guirassy, 24, in action in the last five games before the lockdown, while their former chief scout Steve Rowley has described him as the best target man striker in France.

West Ham, Bournemouth and Brighton were monitoring Guirassy during the January transfer window and that they will look to reignite their pursuits at the end of the season.

Guirassy, who has been capped by France at Under-20 level, has also caught the attention of Juventus, Atletico Madrid, Sevilla, Lyon, Nice and Rennes.

Like the Premier League quartet, they are scouring the transfer market for attacking additions on a smaller budget than normal and they see Guirassy as a potential star in the making.

Amiens are resigned to losing Guirassy this summer following their relegation from Ligue 1 after the season was cancelled early due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The forward was valued at £18million in January but he is now available far cheaper as transfer fees prepare to tumble.

Guirassy returned to France permanently last summer from Bundesliga outfit FC Koln in a £5m deal.

The former Lille striker has gone on to net nine times in 23 Ligue 1 matches this season.

This haul included two goals against Paris Saint Germain as well as strikes against other big guns Marseille, Monaco and Lille.

In other Arsenal news, it can be REVEALED that Ryan Fraser is on the verge of agreeing the terms of free transfer.
