Celtic are submitting an offer for West Ham striker Albian Ajeti after talks this weeks, Football Insider has been told.

The striker, 23, has been made available for a summer move by the Premier League club after struggling to make an impact since £8.5m transfer from Basel last August.

A Celtic source has told Football Insider that the club are exploring various options but a loan deal is currently the most likely.

Should that be the case, it may include an option for that to become permanent at the end of the season.

A loan deal would also likely feature a multi-million fee to take him for the season.

As revealed by Football Insider earlier this week, West Ham are willing to sell Ajeti for around the £5m mark this summer and are also open to a temporary move.

They do not expect to be able to recoup the full cost paid for him last summer, in the wake of his poor debut campaign and reduced transfer fees following the pandemic.

Like his predecessor Manuel Pellegrini, Moyes has barely used Ajeti despite record signing Sebastien Haller's mixed campaign.

The 10-times Switzerland international has not started a single Premier League match all season and most of his 12 West Ham appearances have come as a substitute.

He has yet to open his scoring account for the Londoners, or register his first assist.

But he was prolific at Basel, where he scored 43 times in 96 matches.
