Liverpool are working on a deal to sign Chelsea sensation Callum Hudson-Odoi this summer, Football Insider sources understand.

The Merseyside giants are ready to battle with Bayern Munich, Juventus and Manchester United for the signature of the 18-year-old England international.

A Chelsea source has told Football Insider that Liverpool sporting director Michael Edwards has made contact with Hudson-Odoi's camp this month to explore the possibility of prising him from Chelsea.

Blues manager Maurizio Sarri insisted at his media conference that the wonderkid will stay with the club next season even though he has resisted offers to tie him to a new contract to replace his current £22,000-a-week deal, which expires in the summer of 2020.

Bayern bid £35million for Hudson-Oodi in January and will make a fresh attempt to sign him in the forthcoming transfer window after his electrifying display for England in their Euro 2020 qualifier win against Montenegro on Monday night.

The winger has yet to make his Premier League debut but has made 19 appearances this season, including starting four of the team's eight Europa League matches, two FA Cup ties and one League Cup fixture.
