Rangers have rejected a bid from Wigan Athletic for Josh Windass, Football Insider sources understand.

A well-placed source has now informed Football Insider that Wigan firmed up their interest for Windass with a bid in the region of £200,000 which was flatly rejected by Rangers.

Windass has been in superb form of late for Rangers after being moved more into a striking role and he has impressed with five goals and three assists in his last ten games.

The 23-year-old has developed into a key player for manager Graeme Murty after previously struggling to hold down a regular place in the starting XI under former manager Pedro Caixinha.

Rangers are keen to keep hold of Windass as they look to enjoy a good second half of the season and finish in the top two.

A number of other clubs in England are also understood to be keeping tabs on Windass situation and are ready to test Rangers' resolve to hang onto the former Accrington star in January.
In other Rangers news, Gers fans tore into this one player for his performance against Motherwell.
