Leeds United have accepted a loan bid from Luton Town for Eunan O'Kane, Football Insider understands.

The Republic of Ireland international, 29, is surplus to requirements at Elland Road and Marcelo Bielsa has given him the green light to find a new club.

A Leeds source has told Football Insider that the club have agreed terms for O'Kane to head to Luton for a second spell.

The Championship strugglers are set to cover a significant portion of the wages of the central midfielder for the second half of the season.

O'Kane has 18 months remaining on his United deal and has been given a new chance to reignite his career.

He was loaned out to Luton Town when they were in League One at the start of last season.

But he suffered a horrific double leg fracture early in the campaign and has only recently fully recovered his fitness.

O'Kane has a wealth of top-level experience, including 16 Premier League appearances, 104 Championship matches, seven Ireland caps and he played a key role in Bournemouth's surge up the Football League.

Tellingly, Bielsa has recently ignored O'Kane's claims even though he is not able to call upon a number of senior central midfielders during the team's chase for automatic promotion.

Adam Forshaw has barely played all season due to injury while kingpin Kalvin Phillips is currently serving a three-match suspension.
