Leeds United have agreed a deal to sign highly-rated Leyton Orient striker Sam Dalby,

Football Insider

can reveal. The Championship giants have moved quickly to land the giant centre-forward, 18, who they regard as a star in the making. A well placed source has told

Football Insider

that Dalby is in line to undergo a medical tomorrow (Tuesday) and put the finishing touches to a whirlwind transfer. He has agreed the terms of a two-and-a-half year contract and is set to put pen to paper in the next 24 hours. Dalby burst onto the scene at Orient in the 2016/17 season as a 17-year-old, scoring on his full debut against Crawley in League Two. The exciting forward went on to make 17 appearances for Orient last season, but could not help them avoid relegation from the Football League. Dalby has made just two brief substitute appearances this season in the National League as Orient have tried to protect the teenager. A number of Football League clubs have been keeping tabs on Dalby since he made the breakthrough last season and he had a trial at Crystal Palace earlier this season. However, Leeds have reach an agreement today over a deal with Orient for the player as they see him as one for the future at Elland Road. Dalby is expected to initially link up with Leeds' Under-23s squad with a view to developing into a first-team regular in Thomas Christensen's plans at Elland Road.
