Bristol City defender Taylor Moore has agreed a new four-year contract in what is a big blow to West Brom's transfer plans, Football Insider understands.

A source at Ashton Gate has told Football Insider that there has been a breakthrough in talks between the centre-back and the club and that an announcement of his new long-term deal is expected soon.

Moore arrived at Bristol City back in 2016 after he came through the youth ranks of French outfit RC Lens and has gone on to establish himself as a first-team regular over the past 12 months.

He played 32 times for the Robins in the first half of the season before he was sent out on loan to League One side Blackpool, where he made eight appearances before the season was cut short.

Since his return to Ashton Gate, the London-born defender has started every single one of the club's six games across all competitions and has been an ever-present in the Championship so far.

The club have been impressed with his rise into the senior side and, with less than 12 months left on his current terms and interest from the likes of West Brom, have moved to tie him down to a new long-term deal.

The Baggies have made eight signings following their promotion to the Premier League, with the return of Filip Krovinovic their most recent addition.
