Peterborough have had several bids for Shrewsbury Town midfielder Oliver Norburn rejected, Football Insider understands.

Posh boss Darren Ferguson has made Norburn one of his top targets this summer and has seen two bids in the region of £400,000 turned down by their League One rivals.

A Peterborough source has told Football Insider the club have been busy already in this summer's transfer window, making six new signings and they are keen to add Norburn to their ranks.

The 26-year-old made 49 appearances in all competitions for Shrewsbury in the recently-completed season and chipped in with 11 goals and five assists from midfield.

A number of other clubs, including Championship sides are thought to be monitoring Norburn's situation and could move for the midfielder during this summer's transfer window.

Shrewsbury are reluctant to lose Norburn having only signed him last season from Tranmere.

But the third-tier outfit are bracing themselves for further offers for their star man before the close of the transfer window.
