West Brom's proposed move for Yeovil defender Tom James has fallen through, Football Insider sources understands.

Yeovil confirmed on Wednesday that they had accepted an offer from West Brom for full-back James and that the player had been given permission to travel to the Midlands for a medical.

A well-placed source has now told Football Insider that the move was called off after concerns arose from James' medical and the player is set to return to Yeovil.

Swansea have also been chasing James this summer, but West Brom moved first in a bid to win the race for the versatile defender

The news is a blow for West Brom boss Darren Moore as he was keen to bring in former Wales Under-19 international James to add depth to his defensive options at the Hawthorns.

It means Moore will have to look elsewhere as he looks to bring in a new right-back before the close of the transfer window this month.
