Roma midfielder Dario Meadows has signed a contract to join Leeds on loan, according to a report.

Sky Italy journalist Gianluca Di Marzio has claimed on his website that the 18-year-old has penned a loan-to-buy deal that gives him the option of making it a permanent deal.

Teenager Meadows is originally from Pembury in Kent but moved with his family to Italy as a young boy.

He was then picked up by Roma and has flourished in Giallorossi's youth set-up before he was capped by Italy at Under-16s level.

Meadows, who has both English and Italian passports, is set to switch nationalities and join the England set-up, where he is expected to be selected at Under-18s level.

The youngster is set to become Leeds' 11 major signing of what has been a summer of considerable upheaval.

Monk has made 10 new players so far, bringing in Luke Ayling, Rob Green, Kyle Bartley, Matt Grimes, Hadi Sacko, Kemar Roofe, Marcus Antonsson and Pablo Hernandez in addition to latest signings Liam Bridcutt and Pontus Jansson last week.

Monk said on Thursday that he was hoping to make more additions to the squad and also revealed that he expected a number of fringe players to leave before the transfer window shuts next Wednesday.
